RECENT WORK HISTORY

2007-Present:     Piano Instructor

Arboretum Music School, Waunakee, Wisconsin. Individual piano, all ages, beginning through advanced.

2004-Present      Director of Liturgy and Music

Blessed Sacrament Parish, Madison, Wisconsin. Responsible for weekend liturgies in a parish of 1000 families with four to five liturgies per weekend, including:

·         scheduling and training of all lay ministries and cantors

·         recruitment, hiring and scheduling of organists, accompanists, small groups to play at select liturgies

·         directing traditional adult choir, bell choir, and children’s choir for select liturgies

·         plan and assist in music and liturgical needs for all funerals, weddings and para-liturgies

·         coordinate with teachers to prepare students and provide music for weekly student liturgies

·         maintain music library, budget and instruments including sound equipment for the church.

2002- 2008        Elementary School Music Teacher

Blessed Sacrament Catholic School, Madison, Wisconsin. Grades 3 - 8; general music education, including

·         planning and preparation for student liturgies

·         teaching music basics through age appropriate learning of the recorder

CHURCH MUSIC WORK HISTORY

6/94-8/01

Music Coordinator; Keyboardist & Soloist

St. Martin's Catholic Church; Hazen, North Dakota. Volunteer position in church of 300 families, two liturgies per weekend; responsible for scheduling musicians for liturgies and paraliturgies and providing music as needed.  Reason for leaving: moved from state.

9/90-4/95

Member, Diocesan Commission on Worship

Diocese of Bismarck, Bismarck, North Dakota; member.  Members are appointed by the Bishop, after being reviewed and recommended by the current commission members.  Duties of the commission include aiding in planning of diocesan wide liturgies/rituals; recommendations to the Office of Worship regarding educational needs in the diocese as they pertain to parish life and liturgy; discussion of ways in which the Office of worship can better serve the people of the parishes in the diocese; review of the National Conference of Catholic Bishops (NCCB) Committee on the Liturgy Newsletter and disseminating that information as needed in the parishes.  As members of the Federation of Diocesan Liturgical Commissions the local commission has the responsibility of preparing and submitting recommendations and topics to the NCCB Secretariat for the Liturgy for inclusion in the agenda for the annual national conference.  The commission was disbanded when the Bishop was re-assigned.

9/89-10/90

Director of Music

St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Beulah, North Dakota.  250 family parish with 3 weekend liturgies. Created position to develop and implement progressive music program for church and CCD, including development of choirs for adults and children; Primary keyboardist, part time position.  Reason for leaving: position closed due to lack of funding at the end of the year.

6/86-6/89

Director of Music

Immaculate Conception Parish, North Little Rock  Arkansas.  1400 family parish with 5 weekend liturgies.  Duties included direction of traditional, folk and children's choirs; training of cantors, supervision of organists; planning and preparing music for all liturgies and paraliturgies; keyboards, (organ, piano, electronic piano) and canting as needed; preparing and maintaining the music ministry budget; maintaining the music library.  Reason for leaving:  married and moved from state.

8/87-6/88

Immaculate Conception School, North Little Rock, Arkansas.  350 students, K-8.  Responsible for planning and preparing children for school liturgies.  Initiated program of children cantors.  Taught general Music classes. Part time, one year appointment.
